Artist Statement:

Being soft leaves room for us to be tender but most  of us learn early that to be hard is to be safe. Hard working, hard headed, hard to love, too hard to feel. Hardened. We learn to carry ourselves well, to hold ourselves together, to carry everything.

Softness has never been simple. Perhaps softness is not the absence of struggle, nor the opposite of strength. Perhaps it is what survives it. The choice to stay open when there are reasons to close, to feel without shame, to love without armor, and to remember that beneath everything we carry, we are still human.
